Here are the pictures of my sweet friend Dimpel's arrival. She's a very sweet Canadian who contacted me about coming to Rio for Carnaval, through some friends from Canada.Although I didn't really know her before, we had been writing back and forth for a while and it was like we've known each other for a long time. Her parents are from India, so she looks more brazilian than anything! She was coming by herself, which is very brave, and needed help getting picked up at the airport and introduced to friendly Brazilians. Needless to say, I knew it was very important to find nice English speakers to introduce to her, and thank God I did. Since she needed to stay close to the Sambódramo as she's dying to watch the "escolas de samba" parade, she got a place in Botafogo, (a pretty good hostel) and we were able to contact a dear young friend who's gonna help her out, and take her out with friends, etc. She's very happy to be here and is such a sweety! Jon and I went to pick her up and took her to the hostel, which is full of English speaking young people, so she's not so lost! She's already enjoying herself!
